BETRAYAL
It always comes with a tray of items we never want to face
It comes from the known and the unknown
But we tend to pay particular attention to the ones that come from within
Love and hate all of a sudden can now coexist in our hearts
Why? Is it the disappointment? The short comings? Or the end result?
Many a times it’s a blend of all these things
But who could have known it could come from you a personal confidant?
You mean you too are capable of being like the stories we talked about
And the movies we watched?
Well, life they say happens to the best of us
I mean I still love you after you have hurt me
But the hurt has changed me
I’m not the same anymore
Never to be as naïve and ‘kind’
Be there for me or be gone
Add to me rather than push my fault lines
Don’t leave me dispirited
Have the courage to admit your wrong
And the responsibility to want to do better
For you’re better than this
At least the you that I know

DeleteWise words, it's like you reading my mind or you know what happened to me,🤧. I'm ok sha "be there for me or be gone". Some people are afraid of cutting negative people off because they have been together for so long that they can't picture how life will be without them or picture themselves with another person
ReplyDeleteThanks Super heavy. I pray for such a person, they find the courage to do what's right for them.

DeleteIts interesting how no one is immune to Betrayal.
ReplyDeleteIts almost unavoidable.
Better to expect it, learn from it and MOVE ON.
I love this write-up; keep it up. Funny how this is a feeling we are all too familiar with. At the end it's like you were giving the person the chance to do better. It just shows how we are as humans, even at times when we are hurt, we still want to give them another chance. I hope to read another piece soon.
